Scott Bain signs four-year Celtic deal as keeper earns long-term Parkhead contract

Celtic have announced Scott Bain has penned a new four-year deal with the Premiership champions.

The former Dundee keeper has lost his place in the starting XI to Fraser Forster but has proved an able deputy since joining in January 2018.

The 27-year-old's new deal will keep him with the Premiership champions until 2023, a one-year extension on his previous deal.

Bain, who has three caps for Scotland, suffered a hand injury in August with Craig Gordon backing up the big Englishman in recent weeks.

But Forster is only on loan from Southampton until the end of the season and Gordon's Parkhead deal expires at the end of the season.

And Celtic have made their move to offer the experienced shot stopper fresh terms to remain in Glasgow.

It comes just 24 hours after James Forrest penned a four-year deal to remain with Celtic.
