Scott Arfield 'wanted' for Rangers transfer exit as two clubs battle for midfielder

Two Turkish Super Lig clubs are "vying" to sign Scott Arfield, according to a report.

The Rangers midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and free to discuss a pre-contract with other clubs.

Turkish outlet Fanatik both Alanyaspor and Hatayspor have made contact with the 33-year-old.

It's said the pair have been attracted to Arfield's experience and the possibility of landing him on a free in the summer.

The Canadian international has featured regularly for Rangers since the arrival of manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, completing 90 minutes in three of the last five league games.

Arfield will face increased midfield competition from the second half of the season with the arrival of US international James Sands from New York City FC.

Meanwhile, Rangers are now in pole position to land Hearts star John Souttar on a pre-contract.

The Scotland centre-back could even move to Ibrox in January if a fee can be agreed with the Jambos.
