Everyone knows that feeling of wanting to emulate your footballing heroes when growing up.
Getting that first strip with their name on the back is a memorable occasion and now fans feel even closer to players through the power of social media.
And Scott Arfield and Rangers made one young supporter's year with a response to their brilliant performance of the midfielder's now famous salute celebration.
The young fan was delighted when Arfield scored the winning goal against Standard Liege in the Europa League and stood to salute the Canada captain.
Arfield was shown it by the Rangers media team and went out of his way to make sure the young kid got a response that will leave her delighted.
Standing with a cup of tea, he says: "Hiya Calla, Scott Arfield here. Thank you for your salute, here’s one back to you darling. All the best."
It continues to show Arfield in a great light just days after he raised almost £8000 for charity by raffling off one of his matchworn shirts.
The midfielder raised the money for Poppy Scotland and posted on Twitter earlier this week: "Fantastic response again and £7,885 raised for Poppy Scotland. Congratulations and thanks to everyone again for your contribution."
