Scott Arfield raffles Rangers shirt as Ibrox star raises funds for Poppy Scotland

Rangers star Scott Arfield is raffling off his match worn shirt from the 8-0 win over Hamilton to raise funds for Poppy Scotland.

The Canada captain regularly fundraises by giving fans a chance to win one of his tops and raised thousands in the past.

Arfield raised more than £9000 for the NHS in April at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

He also got involved by donating a shirt to be auctioned off by a young boy with brain cancer earlier this year and the Rangers midfielder has shown his kind side again.

He posted a link on Twitter to a Just Giving page which gives supporters the chance to win the top and more than £3,500 has been raised since he initially shared the competition on Monday night.

He tweeted it with a simple: “All proceeds go to Poppy Scotland. Good luck guys.”

On the Just Giving page, it says: "Do you want the chance to win a worn and signed match day shirt by Scott Arfield?

"Well now is your chance, with all proceeds being donated to Poppyscotland.

"To be in with a chance of winning the signed Arfield Rangers shirt, that was worn in the 8-0 victory against Hamilton on Sunday 8 November, simply donate anything from £2 - £20 to this page by midnight on Tuesday 1st December 2020

"You will be automatically be entered into a prize draw, with a winner to be announced in due course.

"Thanks for your donation to help those who have served, those still serving, and their families at times of crisis and need by offering vital, practical advice, assistance and funding."

Rangers fans loved it too with @D4ve___ saying: “Top man Scotty.”

@Gers_Chezza added: “Well done Scotty. Raising money for a fantastic cause and charity.”

@TrueBluesLoyal said: “Tremendous gesture. Top guy. Absolute legend.”
