Rangers' midfield star Scott Arfield will face down more multi-million pound talents as he looks to be named Canada's Player of the Year.
Bayern Munich sensation Alphonso Davies and £28 million striker Jonathan David are also nominated for the prestigious award.
Arfield opened the scoring with a fine finish against big-spending Benfica in the 2-2 Europa League draw on Thursday.
And his form has been recognised by the nation he's chosen to represent after the Canadian FA placed him on their shortlist for Canada's Player of the Year 2020.
The 32-year-old, who has 19 caps for Canada, will be up against Davies and big-money Lille star David who won the award last year, along with others such as Atiba Hutchinson of Besiktas and Red Star Belgrade's Milan Borjan.
Arfield has netted six times for Rangers this season in 22 games and has scored in his last three games - against Hamilton Accies, Aberdeen and Benfica.
Record Sport columnist Barry Ferguson knows a thing or two about quality midfielders and the legendary captain reckons Arfield has been Steven Gerrard's best performer so far this term.
He wrote: "For me he has actually been Rangers’ top performer.
"For a guy that was looking at being a bit part player in the summer he is now a key man.
"He brings something different to the midfield. He runs beyond, takes defenders and midfielders where they don’t want to go. He is always in the box. He comes up with goals.
"Arfield is now a vital part of a Rangers side which has no failures at this moment."
