Scott Allan to step up Hibs return as Jack Ross reveals bounce game to build fitness

Hibs could have Scott Allan back soon after a bounce game was arranged for the midfielder to build fitness.

The midfielder hasn't played in recent months because of illness but returned to Hibs training last month and could play a big part in the second half of the season.

And Jack Ross has revealed they are hoping to have a bounce match in place on Tuesday, providing the weather holds up let them.

That would be a huge boost for the Easter Road side if they can get Allan back in their squad to provide another creative spark from the middle of the park.

But Ross insists they will take their time to ensure Allan's health is where it needs to be.

Ross said: “Weather permitting we are hopeful we will have a bounce match on Tuesday that he will be involved in. That’s another big step forward for him.

“From a health point of view it’s all going in the right direction. He has not played since August so that in itself is a relatively long period to be out of the game. So there are two aspects to it.

"First, making sure he is good to go from a health point of view. Second, from an all-round fitness view, making sure he is up to speed.

“But he is getting there. He is getting closer and the bounce game is another step forward.”
