Scott Allan is Hibs absentee in Andorra but Jack Ross set to reintroduce trio for second leg

Scott Allan hasn’t traveled with Hibs for their second leg clash with Santa Coloma.

Jack Ross’ team are 3-0 up from their Europa Conference League first leg against the Andorrans and will progress to the next round barring a disaster tonight.

Allan was sacrificed after just half-an-hour last Thursday night, collateral damage from Joe Newell’s undeserved straight red card, and the pair have stayed in Edinburgh.

Christian Doidge and Josh Doig will be involved however, as Jack Ross explained the pair need game time after being forced to isolate before starting pre-season training.

Jamie Murphy also trained with the squad yesterday with a view to be involved tonight.

“They are both in the squad but they are playing catch up,” explained Ross. “We also have Jamie back in the squad and hopefully we’ll get them on the pitch at some point.”

“We’ve got to trust our younger players,” Ross added. “If you take Josh, for example, the games he played at Hampden [last term], they were big occasions.

“There will be a number of younger ones involved. They bring energy to the team that we’re going to need.

“It’s warm here so we’ll strike a balance with those who know how to manage games properly but we want a dynamic nature to our play as well."
