A man was rushed to hospital after being bottled in broad daylight in the Scotstoun area of Glasgow.

The 25 year-old man was standing on Balmoral Street, at its junction with Earl Street, when a bottle was thrown at him from an overhead cycle path bridge at around 2:40pm on Friday.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for a head injury.

Police are hunting the suspect who they describe as white, around 16-17 years-old, and around 5ft 7 of slim build. He was wearing white trainers, bright orange trousers, a yellow t-shirt and a yellow skip hat.

Man, 28, stabbed on Milton street in attempted murder bid

Police Constable Kirstin Walker, Drumchapel Police Office, said: "This was an extremely dangerous act and we are doing everything we can to trace the person responsible.

"The suspect was wearing very distinctive bright colours and therefore we are asking you to think back, were you in the area on Friday afternoon, did you seen anyone matching that description?

"We urge you to get in contact.”
