Scots youngsters create adorable stop motion ceilidh using Lego

A pair of Scots youngsters have created an adorable stop motion ceilidh video using Lego to help promote their father's band.

Logan and Heidi Smith, aged 10 and 12, are from Newmilns in Ayrshire and put together the fun clip during lockdown.

Inspired by the hit Lego film, the pair even persuaded their dad to create a ceilidh band version of the Tegan and Sara song 'Everything is Awesome' which features on the soundtrack.

The clip shows some improvised dancers doing a Virginia Reel, with Marge Simpson, a couple of Iron Mans and even a customised Lego Scot complete with kilt all taking part.

Dad Chris stated that he was blown away by how quickly his talented kids put the clip together, explaining that it took them less than two hours, he said: "I was super impressed with how quickly they did it, considering how time consuming stop motion and animation is typically.

"And I get into trouble for selling their efforts short in saying ‘not that long’. Honestly they did it in under two hours."

He added that they came up with the idea themselves as a promo for 'Jiggered', his 4-piece Scottish ceilidh band which plays at weddings and events across Glasgow and Edinburgh.

People might recognise Heidi and her dad, as the talented family also recently appeared on -and won - the 2019 BBC show ‘Family Brain Games’ hosted by Dara Ó Briain.
