Scots rugby star Gordon Reid saves man from burning house before 'pr**k' runs off

A Scots rugby star has proved a hero off the pitch after pulling a man from a burning house.

Gordon Reid, 32, charged to the rescue of a man in his hometown of Coylton, Ayrshire .

The prop, who plays for the Ayrshire Bulls in the new Super6 semi-pro league, revealed his heroics in a Twitter video posted outside the house.

Filming with an oxygen mask over his face, he joked: "Just a normal day, wake up have breakfast, safe a guys life by pulling him out of his house, which was on fire, then the pr**k ran off.

The clip has already gone viral and been viewed over 55,000 times.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 9.57am on Sunday, November 24 to reports of a fire at a property at Hillhead, Coylton, South Ayrshire.

“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene, where crews extinguished a fire within the single-storey property.

“Firefighters administered oxygen therapy to one casualty who had assisted another member of the public at the scene.

“Crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
