Scots workies have snowball fight and build snowmen on Aberdeen bypass after getting stuck in snow

Workies stuck in traffic on the Aberdeen bypass got out of their cars to build snowmen and have a snowball fight yesterday.

The essential workers decided to have some fun after being brought to a standstill on the A90, Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route, at lunchtime amid horror conditions.

Storm Darcy wreaked havoc leaving a blanket of snow on the road and it quickly became clear the drivers weren't going anywhere in a hurry.

One onlooker said the workmen were even having a snowball fight on the road (Fubar News)

Instead of sitting freezing in their cars for hours, the men decided to find their inner child as they took to the A90 to enjoy the white stuff.

They were spotted building snowmen and upon completion one iceman was even seen sporting a hi-vis jacket.

And the fun didn't end there, as one onlooker said the men even started having a snowball fight on the road.

In a post on Facebook one local posted the pictures with the caption: "Only in the Shire.

"If you get stuck in traffic, build a snowman. This was at Stonehaven earlier."

The post on Fubar News has been shared nearly 1,000 times and has raked in almost 5,000 likes and 500 comments.

One person replied: "This made me smile when I passed it earlier. Well done. Good effort!"

Another said: "At one point there was a snowball fight on the go too."

While another added: "Making the best out of a bad situation. Gotta love the Aberdeen mentality."
