Scots woman's narrow escape caught on CCTV after huge pile of timber plunges off lorry into her path

CCTV caught a woman's narrow escape after a huge timber shipment plunged off a Scots lorry.

The shocking video showed the heart stopping moment the load broke free and speared into a street in Crieff on Monday.

The footage, captured 12.15pm on Comrie Street, shows the vehicle's timber fall off when turning a corner.

A nearby older female pedestrian manages to dart out of the way in the nick of time.

The load then crashes into a nearby fence and the lorry comes to an abrupt halt.

Luckily no one was injured and the road was cleared at around 4.50pm.

The video goes on to show by passers watch in horror before a man in a high vis jacket inspects the damage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 12.15pm on Monday, 7 February, 2022, to a report of a lorry shedding its load from a trailer on Comrie Street in Crieff.

"No-one was injured the road was cleared around 4.50pm.”
