Scots woman missing since Tuesday may be driving 'distinctive' blue car as cops launch frantic search

Police searching woman who has been missing from Aberdeenshire for three days have released an image of a distinctive car she may be driving.

Ruth Watt was last seen on Mackie Avenue in the Tarves area around 4pm on Tuesday, June 21.

Officers are now appealing for help in tracing the 51-year-old, who has not been seen or heard from since.

Cops say she may be driving the 'distinctive' blue Suzuki Ignis, registration SV22 WSL.

They added that the woman has links to the Tarves, Ellon and Huntley areas of Aberdeenshire.

Ruth is described as being around 5ft 8in in height, with long red/auburn hair.

She was wearing a black jumper and blue jeans when she vanished.

Police are urging anyone with any information on Ruth's whereabouts, or who may have spotted her car in the interim, to get in touch.

Sergeant Stuart Gordon said: “Enquiries are ongoing to trace Ruth and I am appealing for the help of the public.

“I am appealing for anyone who may have seen Ruth, her vehicle which is quite distinctive, or who has any information on her whereabouts to contact us.

“Ruth has links to the Tarves, Ellon and Huntley areas of Aberdeenshire.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 2838 of 22 June, 2022.
