A woman has been left seriously injured following a brutal attack in Airdrie.
Cops have launched an investigation into the assault, which happened at a taxi rank in the town centre.
The incident occurred at around 10.45pm on Stirling Street, on Saturday, July 10.
It's understood a 46-year-old was left with a serious facial injury after being punched.
She was rushed to University Hospital Monklands for treatment.
Police have launched an appeal and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Constable David Williamson said: “This was a serious assault and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened, particularly if they were in the taxi queue or walking past at the time.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have been driving in the area and has dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation.
