Scots woman left baffled after passenger pulls out full rack of barbecue ribs on flight

Most of us are aware of unwritten plane etiquette rules that you should follow on a flight, unless you want everyone seated around you to glare for entire flight.

Impolite acts such as taking your shoes off if your feet are smelly, kicking the chair of the person in front of you or reclining too far into the person behind won't gain you any brownie points.

However, one woman was left gobsmacked when the passenger next to her pulled out an entire rack of barbecue ribs, served with a side of fries and corn on the cob and started tucking right into his meal. Lanna Tolland, from Glasgow shared the image of the huge snack on Twitter which has since gone viral with over 5.5m views, the Mirror reports.

In the caption, she wrote: "No chance is the guy next to me eating a full rack of ribs plus sides on this plane." Thousands of social media users questioned the man's bizarre behaviour who was sitting in the middle seat of a jam packed plane.

One person replied: "I don't even like using my laptop on the plane in the middle seat." while another deemed it as: "Questionable behaviour".

A third wrote: "Full rib rack in the middle seat.. Nasty behaviour." Somebody else remarked: "I feel like there is a line on what’s acceptable to bring to eat in a plane. Sandwich? Good. Chips? Good. Full plate of BBQ? As much as I love BBQ - over the line".

However, others defended the bold passenger's decision and said he was well within his rights to enjoy his sit down meal on the flight. One person joked: "We know you're just mad he didn't share."

Another gushed: "My absolute hero — if you don’t respect this power move, it says more about you than him." A third praised the man, saying: "This required planning, patience, and execution. A recreation of the gilded age of plane travel. Let the man live."
