Scots woman 'held at knifepoint' as puppy stolen from home in front of terrified 3-year-old

A Scots woman claims she was held at knifepoint by a pair of dognappers who stole her puppy in front of her terrified three-year-old son.

McKenzie Collins said a man and woman forced their way into her Glasgow home and took the seven-month-old American Bulldog, Nylah, as her child watched on and shouted at the intruders to leave his dog alone.

The shocking incident happened around 9am on Wednesday morning on Campsie Street in the Springburn area of the city.

In a post shared on Facebook on Wednesday, McKenzie said: “This morning around 9am Springburn area, a guy and a woman forced their way into my house, held me at knife point and stole my 7 month old xl pup. all while my 3 year old witnessed everything.

“My 3 year old was breaking his heart shouting at them to leave his puppy alone, while the female was putting a pink collar and leash on her.

“Nylah’s a 7 month old xl bully, she’s blue with a white marking on her chest, got 2 white toenails on her back right leg. Just want my boy's puppy back where she belongs.”

McKenzie’s appeal has been shared hundreds of times on social media, with several friends expressing their shock and anger and offering their reassurances following her ordeal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received report of the break-in and theft of a seven-month-old grey American Bulldog from a property on Campsie Street in Glasgow around 9.40am on Wednesday, 13 October, 2021.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident 0775 of 13 October.”
