Scots woman charged after young mum allegedly branded ‘white n*****’ and 'immigrant' in letter

Police have arrested and charged a woman in connection with an alleged racist letter delivered to the home of a young mum in Fife.

Officers were alerted to alleged threats and xenophobic abuse directed towards a family in Glenrothes after being called on Saturday, March 20.

The hand-written note, which allegedly branded the American-born mum a ‘white n*****’ and an immigrant, was handed to the police.

An investigation was launched while the victim claimed her family were forced to move house several times and keep their curtains closed 24/7 during the ‘hate campaign’.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that a 38-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the allegations.

A force spokesperson said: “A 38-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a hate crime offence.

“She has been released on an undertaking and will appear at court at a later date.

"A report is being submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
