Scots woman can 'see Jesus' in Notre Dame flames - and she's not alone

A Scots woman has claimed she can see the outline of Jesus in the flames which engulfed the iconic Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris.

The historic 850-year-old building was devastated by the inferno which broke out in the French capital shortly after 7pm local time on Monday evening.

Heartbreaking photos of the burning structure quickly circulated around the internet as fire crews battled to contain the blaze.

But Lesley Rowan, from Alexandria in West Dunbartonshire, reckons she can see the silhouette of the son of God in one of the pictures.

The 38-year-old said: "When I looked at this photo last night, I was really astounded by what I saw.

"When I look at it I see a silhouette of Jesus. I really see a vivid image.

"I shared it and asked for people's opinions - even my brother in Australia said it looks like Jesus.

"I feel like it will bring comfort to people in Paris and all over the world at this sad time."

And she's not alone.

Lesley's Facebook and Instagram posts featuring the photo was inundated with friends and family who agreed the outline resembled that of Jesus.

Louise Blair said: "Looks like a figure of Jesus, or I am tripping?"

Dom Disanto also wrote: "I can see it pretty clear, gown and all.

"Imagine this was how god showed us he wasn’t happy with us, by using acts of god to take away ancient, beautiful monuments/ and cathedrals."

While Grant Mackenzie agreed: "Yeah I saw it straight away - it's Jesus!"

Moment Notre Dame spire collapses

Hungover Scot posts hilarious video after realising he's fallen asleep in the WRONG HOUSE

Crews claim the inferno has destroyed the famed rose glass windows at the site after its spire collapsed earlier on in the evening.

But thankfully, after a tense few hours, a fire official said the structure will survive.

French President Emmanuel Macron, in an address to the nation today, has said he wants to see the fire-ravaged Notre Dame Cathedral rebuilt within five years.
