Scots woman bags luxury Jet2 Costa Brava holiday for less than £5

A Scots woman has told of her joy after she bagged a holiday to Costa Brava for less than a fiver.

Karen O'Donnell, from Gourock, managed to secure the 4 star break at the luxury L'Azure Hotel in Lloret de Mar after she entered a Jet2holidays competition to win the trip. The holiday company's Bid for a Break campaign allows holidaymakers the opportunity to bid for their next holiday - and win by making the lowest unique bid.

And lucky punter Karen snapped up the luxury seven-night trip for two for just £4.94.

She said: “I downloaded the Jet2 app after booking a recent holiday and I’ve been entering the competition every week since June.

"My bids have always been quite close to the amounts bid by previous successful bidders, so I’m over the moon to secure a holiday for myself!”

Jet2holidays' Bid for a Break campaign returned earlier this year and follows the success of the campaign in 2021.

A total of 23 holidaymakers successfully ‘Bid on a Break’ and secured a holiday for the same price as their lowest bid. Holidaymakers successfully bid on and secured getaways with Jet2holidays to the Canary Islands, Greece, Cyprus, Spain, the Algarve, and Turkey, with successful bids starting from just 2p.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Congratulations to Karen for successfully bidding for a holiday. With summer in full swing, we know how much UK holidaymakers want to get away to enjoy some much-needed sunshine, and we are giving them the chance to do just that in a fun way for potentially only a few pence.

"With some fantastic holidays available to bid on each week, make sure you get involved and have a bid in mind for next week’s holiday. We wish Karen a lovely holiday in the Costa Brava!”

A new holiday is available to bid on each week. To get involved download the Jet2 mobile app and add in the bid to the nearest pence. If you are the only user to bid that amount - and that amount is the lowest, you will buy the holiday for that price. Bids open at 9.00am on a Monday and can be placed until midday on the Thursday. The lowest unique bid is announced on the same day.
