Scots window cleaner threatened to rape two female police officers

A drunken sexist trainee window cleaner who threatened to rape two women police constables has avoided jail.

Robbie Barker, 22, started blowing kisses and miming oral sex when the female cops arrested him after finding him shirtless, swearing and making threatening gestures in a street in Grangemouth, Stirlingshire.

Prosecutor James Moncrieff said Barker had been "shouting about unspecified people being c****" and was asked to stop as there were passers-by, including children, around.

When he did not, he was handcuffed and placed in a police van.

Mr Moncrieff said: "He thereafter informed the two female police officers that he was going to rape them and started blowing kisses at them and making gestures as if simulating oral sex."

The incident occurred about 6.00 pm on September 25th last year (2021).

Barker, a father-of-one, of Grangemouth, pleaded guilty at Falkirk Sheriff Court to threatening and abusive behaviour.

The Crown accepted there was "no substantial sexual element" to the crime - meaning it was not a sexual offence and Barker's name will not be entered on the sex offenders' register.

Solicitor-advocate Martin Morrow, defending, said Barker was a first offender.

He said: "He had been drinking. He was obviously very drunk."

Sheriff Derek Livingston said Barker had behaved in an "appalling, sexist and misogynistic manner" towards the female officers.

He fined him £380.
