Scots warned more snow and ice on the way as yellow weather warning issued

A yellow weather warning affecting most of the west of Scotland has been announced by the Met Office.

Snow and ice is expected to cause travel disruption today as scattered snow showers batter the region.

The warning is in place from Saturday until 11am on Sunday.

People are being warned to look out for icy patched on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

With roads and railways likely to be affected, longer journey tines are also expected.


Strathclyde, south west Scotland, the Highlands and central parts of the country are expected to see the worst of the conditions

Weather warnings have dominated many of Scotland’s forecasts this week as Storm Christoph traveled up the UK.

Beast from the East 2 fears have been ramped up as forecasters anticipate the wintry weather continue into February.

The scattered sleet and snow showers will continue on and off during the day and overnight into Sunday.
