Scots unable to access Amazon website this morning due to broadband issues

A number of Scots have been unable to access the Amazon website this morning.

Thousands of people across the UK have reported issues with the online retail giant over the past few hours.

More than 1,200 reports were logged on the website Down Detector during the peak of the issues at around 9am.

Around 71% of complaints were regarding the website, 21% has problems logging in and 3% said they had issues with the check-out facility.

Users in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen are among those to have been most impacted.

Disgruntled customers have been taking to social media to vent their frustrations.

One person wrote: “Amazon website is down!? Nothing loading correctly.”

Another asked: “Why does the Amazon app work when on mobile data but not on WiFi?”

Some say the issues have arisen for Sky broadband customers using it’s Sky Shield service.

A spokesperson for the Sky Help Team says that the issue has now been resolved and customers will be able to access Amazon with the Sky Shield turned on.

Amazon said that it is currently investigating the issue.
