Scots heading to Portugal will have to wear a face mask on the beach - or face being hit with a £85 fine.
Tourists were given the green light to head to the popular European destination from Scotland yesterday as lockdown restrictions eased further.
The introduction of the Scottish Government’s traffic light system on international travel means that it is the first time that Scots holidaymakers have been able to jet off this year.
One of the countries added to Scotland’s ‘green list’ is Portugal - where a number of lockdown rules are still in place.

The Mirror reports that Scots will have to wear a face mask while walking on the beach. Refusal to wear one could result in a hefty fine of up to €100.
Local media reports that the fines will also apply to people ‘playing football on the sand.’
There are also limits on the numbers allowed in the one place and restaurants must close by 10.30pm.
Nightclubs and indoor bars selling only alcohol remain closed as the country continues to reopen cautiously following a strict four-month lockdown.
Around 22 flights are said to have been scheduled to land in Portugal from the UK yesterday, with the majority heading for the Algarve region.
Algarve tourism office workers were seen handing out hand sanitiser and packets of face masks to flyers arriving into the area.
Portugal is one of 12 countries named on the Scottish Government’s green list for travel under the new traffic light system.
Travellers must take a test for Covid before leaving Scotland and must take another test on the second day of their arrival back into the country.

Unlike countries on the amber and red list, there is no need to quarantine unless you have tested positive for the virus.
Scots should also self-isolate while they wait for the result of their test.
