Scots tot performs incredible Greatest Showman routine dressed as Hugh Jackman

This is the moment a young Greatest Showman superfan does his best Hugh Jackman excites fans ahead of Hydro opening night in Glasgow impression in a bid to meet his idol.

In a heartwarming video posted on Twitter by his dad today, little James Samson gives it his all in a last ditch attempt to meet the Holywood A-lister.

Thomas Samson, 36, told how his four-year-old "gave him the task" of meeting the X-Men star while he's in Glasgow for his The Man. The Music. The Show at the SSE Hydro .

In the clip, James struts his stuff around the living room to his favourite song from the circus musical, The Greatest Show.

And he looks every part the ringmaster dressed in a red jacket and black top hat as he stomps away to the music.

Doting Thomas, from Kilmarnock, said: "He's always loved the Greatest Showman since it first came out.

"He knows all the songs and always sings along to them in the car, on the radio and at home. He's even gone to the sing-along shows!

"As soon as the film came out he was hooked, he just loves it and always wants to watch it. He'll demand we put it on YouTube for him.

"Just this morning he wanted me to style his hair like Hugh Jackman's before he left the house.

"It would mean the world to him if he met Hugh."

The Oscar nominated Aussie has been seeing the sights around the city ahead of his three-night run at the 13,000-capacity venue.

We reported how Hugh tried a deep fried Mars bar and pizza crunch, posted a hilarious video outside the Hydro and visited a picturesque cemetery in Loch Lomond during his trip to Scotland.

But nursery pupil James only has one thing on his mind while Jackman is in town - how to become a ringmaster like his favourite character in the film.

Thomas added: "He would definitely ask him what it takes to be a ringmaster - what qualifications are needed and whether it's a good job!"

Jackman will be singing tunes from hit film The Greatest Showman as well as the music Les Miserables at the remaining shows starting tonight.

He'll also be belting out favourites from the likes of Irving Berlin, Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire.
