A lengthy heatwave could be on the cards for Scots over the coming weeks - as forecasters anticipate temperatures to remain warm into early August.
Scots are expected to bake in “very warm” climates from tomorrow, with temperatures climbing to a high of 25C in some southern parts of the country over the weekend.
And it is expected that this hot and dry spell will last longer, according to the Met Office’s long range forecast.
The warm period is expected to continue into next week, with an area of high pressure moving across the UK - resulting in “fine and dry” weather.

Fresher and cloudier conditions could be seen along the North Sea coasts during this time, but temperatures are still set to remain “above normal”.
However, forecasters warn that there is a slight chance of wet weather in some parts, with showers potentially turning thundery.
The summery conditions are forecast to continue into early August as an area of high pressure remains close to the UK.
Warmer and drier conditions are “most probable”, according experts at the Met Office.
It will be welcome news for most Scots, who have experienced a mixed bag of conditions during the summer so far.
Homes and businesses were affected by flash flooding in Edinburgh as heavy rain belted down across Scotland earlier this month.
Hayfever sufferers have been urged to be on alert over the coming days, as forecasters expect the pollen count to remain high throughout the week.
UV levels are also anticipated to be high across the country during this week’s predicted spell of warm weather.
