Scots TikTok star goes viral with fun recipe for traditional Scottish stovies

A Scots Tik Tok Star known for brilliant food videos is back with a recipe for traditional stovies.

Myles Omar, 33, is known for making clips on his Tik Tok page and recently went viral after combining two Scottish favourites to make an incredible Irn-Bru Chicken Pakora.

In the new video, he is proudly sporting his Scotland football top and shows how to prepare the lamb, baby potatoes, onions and carrots, for the proper old fashioned Scottish recipe.

The clip has gone down a storm online but has also caused a bit of a stramash over Myles' choice of two of the ingredients.

To explain, stovies are usually made with leftovers and people all across Scotland have their own favourite versions - meaning debate over recipes can get quite heated.

Myles joked: "The response has been, I’d say controversial. I used lamb and carrots in mine which is quite unusual and this sparked up a massive debate.

"Some people said it should be made with square sausage, then everyone started arguing between themselves, other people say it’s mince or corned beef. I say stovies is anything you want it to be."

But the typically cheery supermarket stock manager was happy to have some banter with his fans in the comments.

One posted: "You’ve left yourself open to some pelters on this one, Myles. Brave man."

While another added: "You’re all too posh. Stovies are peasant food. Tatties, corned beef and an onion if you’re lucky."

Myles hit back stating: "Listen, stovies can be made with lamb too."

Others posted that carrots should be nowhere near the recipe, while one even quipped he'd actually made a "lamb casserole".

Stewing steak, square sausage, roast beef and corned beef were offered as the real ingredients, showing just how divisive the argument really is.

Whatever way you go when you see Myles' version served up on some Tiger bread, it's guaranteed to have you craving some.
