A student carer ordered her dog to bite cops - only for the animal to sink its teeth into her instead.
Janey Cassidy, 18, also punched a policewoman in the head.
Falkirk Sheriff Court heard that the incident, on June 12th (2021) occurred at an address in Camelon, Stirlingshire, where ambulance staff were dealing with somebody who had overdosed.
Cassidy became "instantly agitated" when police arrived at the scene as well, and started to shout and swear at cops.
Prosecutor Katie Cunningham said: "She was told to desist by one of the officers, and at that point she punched and struck one of the officers to the head and body."
The officer, a female, was not injured.
Miss Cunningham said: "The accused was also shouting at her dog to bite the police officers, but on hearing this the dog actually bit her on the face.
"She was slightly injured as a result. She was placed in handcuffs and taken to Falkirk Police Office."
Cassidy, of Camelon, admitted police assault and statutory breach of the peace.
Defence solicitor Simon Hutchison said Cassidy's dog had been barking at police, and according to Cassidy one of the officers had kicked the dog because of this.
He said: "In the context, Miss Cassidy simply lost the place."
He said Cassidy, a first offender, was doing a full-time college course for a certificate in community studies, with a view to becoming a carer.
He said: "She is concerned about the consequences of her behaviour upon her future."
Sentencing Cassidy to 90 hours of unpaid work, Sheriff Christopher Shead told her: "The only thing that can reasonably be said in your favour at the moment is your youth."
