Scots teen was ‘feeling low’ before disappearing from Airdrie home as major police search continues

Concern is growing the safety of a Scots teenager who has vanished from his Airdrie home after ‘feeling low’.

Cameron Notman was last seen leaving the property on Howletnest Road, Craigneuk, at around 5.15pm on Wednesday.

The 15-year-old did not tell anyone where was going and has failed to return - sparking ‘extreme concern’ over his well being from his worried family and friends.

Police are scouring CCTV in a bid to find the teen who has previously visited Edinburgh and has family in the Northumberland area.

Officers are also liaising with their colleagues at British Transport Police.

Cameron, who is described as being white, 5ft 10ins tall and of a slim build, is also known to visit the Petersburn area of Airdrie.

He was last seen wearing grey jogging bottoms, a grey hooded top and Nike trainers.

Chief Inspector Gillian Norrie said: “Cameron has been feeling low lately and his family and police are very concerned for his wellbeing and safety.

“He has never went missing before and it is extremely out of character for him not to keep in contact with his family.

“Cameron frequents the Craigneuk and Petersburn areas of Airdrie and officers have been carrying out enquiries and searches for him and are being assisted by specialist search advisors.

“They have been speaking to people in the local area and gathering and studying CCTV footage to gain more detail on where he may have went.

“Cameron has previously visited Edinburgh and he has family in the Northumberland area, so we are liaising with British Transport Police and police colleagues in those areas to carry out further enquiries.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Cameron, or anyone may have any information on his whereabouts, or indeed Cameron himself if he sees this appeal to contact Coatbridge Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 3542 of 9 December.”
