
Cops are hunting a driver who hit a Scots teenager pushing his motorbike and then drove off leaving him hurt on the pavement.
The 15-year-old boy was pushing the off-road bike on Connochie Road near to the junction with Lundavra Road, Fort William when he was hit by a grey car with L-plates around 5.50pm last night.
A woman got out the car and spoke to the youth but did not give any details and instead drove off.
Police are now looking to speak to the woman who is described as having 'dark hair' and have urged anyone with any information to come forwards.
A statement released today by Highlands and Islands division reads: "Police officers in Fort William are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a motor car and a youth pushing an off road motorbike.
"The incident happened around 5:50pm on Tuesday 24th August 2021, when a 15 year-old boy was walking on Connochie Road, near to the junction with Lundavra Road, Fort William, when the boy was struck by a grey coloured motor car, displaying ‘L Plates’ and being driven by a female with dark hair.
"The female got out of the vehicle and spoke with the youth. However did not provide any details and then drove off, leaving the youth injured on the pavement.
“If you were in the area and witnessed the incident, or have any potential Dashcam footage or information that could assist our investigation, please call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident 2794 of 24/08/2021."
