Scots teen fighting for life after being pulled out River Gryfe

A Scots teen is fighting for life in hospital after being pulled out of a river in Renfrewshire.

Emergency services raced to the River Gryfe near Auchans Farm, Houston, just before 7pm last night after they received reports of a teenage boy in the water.

He was pulled out of the river but is now in critical condition in the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Cops are currently probing the incident to establish the full circumstances and enquiries remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a teenage boy in the River Gryfe near to Auchans Farm around 6.50pm on Wednesday, June 2.

“The boy was recovered from the water and was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
