Scots teen attacked and robbed of mobile phone as he walked with pal near beauty spot

A teenager was attacked and robbed by two hooded thugs as he walked with a pal in Renfrewshire.

The 18-year-old man was travelling along a cycle path near Castle Semple on Lochlip Road, Lochwinnoch, at around 8.45pm on Friday, October 22.

They were approached by two men, speaking with Glasgow accents, who then physically attacked the young victim before taking his mobile phone.

The teen did not require hospital treatment and his phone was recovered a short time later by officers.

Investigators have released a description of the two suspects and are keen to speak to any witnesses who have yet to come forward.

The first attacker is described as being around 6ft tall, of a slim build and was wearing dark clothing with his hood up.

The second was around 5ft 8in tall with stubble and was also wearing dark clothes with the hood up.

Detective Constable Gary Bruce said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen something that could assist with our enquiries to get in touch.”
