Scots teen arrested after laser pen aimed at police helicopter

A teen has been charged after a laser pen was shone at a police helicopter.

Cops in Lanarkshire have confirmed that the incident happened at around 8.15pm on Sunday, 1 April.

Officers have since arrested a 13-year-old boy in connection with the 'dangerous' act.

Laser pointers can be dangerous for pilots as they can cause temporary blindness among a host of other issues.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Thankfully these actions did not result in anyone coming to harm however, the dangers of these actions on pilots are obvious and are robustly investigated on every occasion. We would like to remind people to please refrain from this dangerous activity.
