Fraudsters are targeting vulnerable Scots with a coronavirus phone scam by posing as a caller from NHS Test and Protect.
The criminals are cold-calling potential victims and claim to be a member of the NHS service.
Targets are told they are receiving the call because they have been identified as having been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.
The caller says they will be sending a covid home testing kit to their house address and asks for the person's 16 digit number bank card number.
Residents in the Knightswood area of Glasgow and in Maryhill have reported receiving the calls.
One Glasgow local, whose friend was contacted, took to social media to warn others of the scammers at large in the wake of the pandemic.
They wrote on Facebook: "My friend received a call to say due to Track and Trace with Covid-19 he cad been in contact with someone who had tested positive.
"So my friend asked a few questions, 'who was it?', 'where did it happen?'.
"The reply to both was 'unable to tell you due to data protection'.
"The they proceed to inform my friend that they would send out the home testing kit and all they required was the 16 digit card number.
"My friend then disconnected the call.
"Make sure you, your family, your granny and your neighbour aren't one of the victims."
It comes as another 159 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours in Scotland but there were no new deaths, Nicola Sturgeon confirmed.
It follows an update where the First Minister reported three coronavirus deaths as restrictions on movement were in put in place.
The Daily Record have contacted Police Scotland for comment.
