Scots takeaway offers punters free bottle of vodka if they buy £30 CapriSun

A Scottish takeaway has exploited a Deliveroo loophole to flout Scotland’s 10pm booze sale curfew.

Midnight Munchies on Edinburgh 's Inverleith Row is offering free alcohol to customers with every order of a single Caprisun, lollipop or paper straw.

In Scotland, the off-sale of alcohol is strictly banned between the hours of 10pm and 10am.

But the outlet is currently listing booze deals on their Deliveroo shop using a loophole on the popular takeaway app by giving away alcohol ‘for free’ while overcharging for small products, Edinburgh Live reports.

The booze offers from Midnight Munchies (Edinburgh Live)

The takeaway has listed the following offers as ‘available until 4am’:

  • Purchase a £30 lollipop and get a case of 12 Corona bottles free
  • Purchase a £20 single paper straw and get a free 75cl bottle of Buckfast
  • Purchase a £30 Caprisun pouch and get a free 70cl of Smirnoff

Deliveroo and Midnight Munchies have been contacted by the Daily Record for comment.
