A delivery driver was threatened at knife point during a Thursday evening shift at a takeaway in Paisley.
Cops have launched a probe into the incident which happened on Magdalen Way around 6.30pm on Thursday.
The takeaway delivery driver was within a parked black Ford Focus when a man leant in the window and allegedly threatened him with a knife as he demanded cash.
The suspect then fled the scene on foot without taking any money.
He is described as a being a white man with a local accent, of slim build and sunken around the eyes.
He was wearing a navy blue jacket with the hood up and dark coloured trousers.
It is thought he may have had some facial hair.
Police are urging anyone with information to get in touch following the frightening incident.
Detective Constable James Campbell, of Paisley CID, said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this but it was a frightening experience for a man who was simply doing his job.
“I'm appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any relevant information to contact us.”
