Scots street cordoned off as man rushed to hospital after assault

A street in Aberdeen has been cordoned off as police probe an attack that has left one man in hospital.

Emergency services are currently in attendance in the Union Wynd area of the Granite City after two men were assaulted around 2pm on Thursday.

One victim was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to his injuries. It is understood the other man did not require further medical attention.

A photograph from the scene shows a police cordon in place with officers standing guard. A forensic officer in a white suit can be seen on Summer Street, appearing to photograph a vehicle on the road.

Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of two men having been assaulted in the Union Wynd area of Aberdeen around 2.10pm on Thursday, 28 July.

“One of the men has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to their injuries. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
