Scots sports commentator Andrew Cotter provides hilarious voiceover to his dogs' chew toy battle

Scottish sports broadcaster Andrew Cotter has delivered for the nation once again with a brilliant commentary of his two playful dogs.

Cotter's Ayrshire tones are instantly recognisable from his television and radio commentary from major sporting events, rugby's Six Nations, golf's Masters and The Boat Race.

With no sports to comment on at the moment, Andrew has been bringing us all the nail-biting drama between Labradors Olive and Mabel.

In his latest installment, the 46-year-old has talked social media users through a new clash between Olive and Mabel as they compete for ownership of a chew toy in what Cotter describes as a sport 'more about strategy.'

Cotter begins his hilarious commentary in the final minutes of the contest with Olive in possession and with Mabel "chasing the game."

The TV star says: "So into the final minute and Olive in possession but this is where Mabel is strong, chasing the game, using that intensity we saw it in the semi-final.

Cotter begins to sense underdog Mabel may yet get a chance, saying: "Perhaps a few signs of over-confidence from her rival, abit of show boating. Needs to be carefull."

The second clip from veteran broadcaster Andrew Cotter has met with great amusement on Twitter (Andrew Cotter/Twitter)

As Mabel places the toy at her feet, the witty commentator continues: "And there is the change from the classic hold still place on the outside, great technique.

"And a glance at the youngster who show little emotion.

"but her mind will be empty."

With Cotter announcing 20 second until time black lab Olive looks set to see out the clash.

"Olive closing in on victory in that coveted prize if being told she is a very good dog."

As the seconds slip away Cotter continues: "Mable sensing there is still a chance and you wonder what Olive is doing here he only has to hold on.

"Going to the upright though, high tariff with no disposable thumbs. It's high risk at this stage."

Next minute the chewtoy is loose and rolling along the carpet with Cotter declaring "it's loose!".

At which point Mable take it and the victory just has times runs out.

"A famous win built on patience," declared the broadcaster bringing the video to a close.

The clip has since gone viral with Troon-born Cotter's post racking up over 36,000 likes.

It follows his first clip which captured the duo competing to see who could polish off their food first.
