Scots singer Tom Walker parties with gran after sell-out shows in Edinburgh and Glasgow

Scots singer Tom Walker played two sell out shows at King Tut's in Glasgow on Tuesday 11 February and Edinburgh Caves on Wednesday 12 February, and knocked it out of the park at each of them (appropriate, given that the gigs were part of his 'Home Run' tour).

In fact, to celebrate, Tom ended up going out after the show with his family, including the famous Granny Sadie - it was his Uncle Andy’s birthday. Sounds like a fun night.

He was supported at the Edinburgh show by someone who had almost certainly travelled the furthest to appear at the gig: Joshua Grant. He won the 'apply to play' opening slot competition but had also been offered an internship with the New York Times.

Not wanting to give up the slot, the musician flew back to play the gig - landed on Tuesday, played Wednesday and he's off back to NYC today (13 February).

Tom was also supported in Edinburgh by West Lothian performer Luke La Volpe, originally from Bathgate.

The Leave A Light On singer is best known for his powerhouse vocals and powerful ballads, and he most certainly did not disappoint his loyal following of fans at either of his central belt gigs.

The lights went down and anticipation grew amongst the crowd as Walker prepared to take to the stage with his string quartet in tow.

The man himself modestly strutted onto the stage at 9:30, with his pianist joining just behind him. He opened with the much-loved ballad Angels, a song which sounds even more romantic (if that is even possible) stripped down to an acoustic level.

Walker had the audience in the palm of his hand, joking along with the hecklers and occasionally toasting his fans with a glass of red in hand – a gesture which shows truly how down to Earth the singer is.

He went on to do hits Better Half of Me and Just You and I, which Walker told us was written for the love of his life Annie – who he has just recently got engaged to.

The show itself was the epitome of intimate, every song making the crowd feel a different emotion, with Walker explaining the meaning behind every song. He even showcased a new song Wait For You, which is all about his friend who he claims to be the strongest person he knows.

He had emotion through every track, putting on a fierce performance.
