Scots singer-songwriter Callum Beattie sends video message to Lanarkshire theatre group

Scottish singer-songwriter Callum Beattie has vowed to meet up with the members of a Lanarkshire-based theatre group when lockdown is over.

The rising star – whose Salamander Street tune climbed its way to the top of the Scottish singles chart – recorded an amazing video message for the Ups and Downs Theatre Group.

The group, who put on a show each year at Hamilton Town House, was set up for children and young adults with Down’s syndrome, and their siblings who have a shared passion for music, theatre and dance.

Callum said: “I hope you are staying safe and well during lockdown and looking after one another. Hopefully When this is all over I can come through and see you and sing some songs with you all.

“Until then I want to dedicate this song for you. You are all superstars. This song is called We Are All Stars.”

A spokesperson for the Ups and Downs Theatre Group said: ” We were so happy to receive the video tonight.

“We are trying to keep the group together by means of Zoom and Facebook and this was a lovely boost.”
