Scots singer Lewis Capaldi wowed some young patients during a surprise visit for a children’s hospital in Glasgow .
The Someone You Loved chart-topper took time out his busy touring schedule to spend time with patients at the Glasgow's Royal Home for Children .
Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity supports nearly 200,000 babies, children and young people treated each year at the children's hospital.
During his visit, Lewis took time to sing with some of the patients who couldn’t hide their delight at seeing the Bathgate superstar.
“I had a lovely day with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, meeting some of the kids at the children’s hospital in Glasgow and spending time with them”, he said.
“Being in hospital at Christmas must be so hard for kids and their families, so it was really special to be asked along to surprise a few of them.”
Shona Cardle, the Chief Executive of the charity, was another who couldn’t wipe the smile off her face after Lewis' visit.
She said: “It certainly felt like Christmas came early when Lewis visited our young patients. They were so excited and absolutely thrilled to meet Lewis, and we cannot thank him enough for taking time out of his very busy schedule to make some Christmas wishes come true.
“At Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity we work hard to make Christmas magical for the children who will spend Christmas in hospital. Our programme of events, visits and surprises will ensure that these children and their families won’t miss out on the fun and excitement of the festive season.”
Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity raises funds to ensure that patients and their families receive the best possible care and experience in hospital.
It provides enhanced medical equipment, innovative play programmes, family support services and ground breaking paediatric research as part of its work.
