Amy MacDonald has been keeping her fans entertained during lockdown with a rendition of her hit song 'This is the Life' and told the story of how it changed her life.
'This is the Life' was released in 2007, and Amy let fans into a secret of how the song became a huge hit as she penned it after a night out.
Performing from her home in Glasgow on her YouTube channel, Amy explained that she was extremely proud of the track.

She said: "When I was 16 , I went out on a night out - shouldn't have been on a night out really - used my sisters ID, I loved that we looked enough a like that I could get away with it and just had a brilliant time and the next day I spent the next whole day in my bedroom - I think I was banished there and wrote this song.
"And when I wrote it I was just so unbelievably thrilled when you're a song writer you know when you've written something good and with this I just knew right away and I was right because it then went on to be a massive hit all over Europe.
Amy went on to explain that the song had a huge impact on her life. She said: "And it changed my entire life. It meant I was able to travel all over Europe, play gigs and I still am! It's just so amazing, people spend their entire lives just trying to write songs that have that sort of impact - a lasting impact. I swear to god you can't go anywhere in Europe without hearing this song constantly.
She added: "And for me to be able to do that on my own, in my bedroom when I was 16, is just something I'm so massively proud of."
Amy, from Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow, has released four studio albums and a greatest hits compilation since her chart breakthrough in 2007 and has sold than 12million records worldwide.
