Scotland is basking in record-breaking temperatures as it prepares for the warmest day of the year so far.
Temperatures across the country could reach record highs today as the mercury is tipped to hit 24C.
Sizzling 20C weather is unusual for May and far closer to the average temperature of summer days in June or July.
Last year on this day temperatures only managed to reach 19C.
Today's predicted heatwave will top weather in Ibiza where the temperature will reach highs of 20C.
Meanwhile temperature in the Italian capital of Rome will only see highs of a mere 11C.

Scotland is expected to reach its hottest ever day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching as high as 23C in some places in the afternoon.
The hottest point today is expected to come this afternoon between 2pm and 6pm.
Last year the nation enjoyed the warmest May in 100 year when temperature soared to an average of 15.3C for the month – 2.4C above the norm.
The warmest May in Scotland was in 1910, four years before World War I.
Met Office meteorologist Aidan McGivern said Scots could expect plenty of sunshine with temperatures hitting '23C and 24C in the North and West."
A Met office spokesperson added: "It will warm or very warm again. It will be slightly cooler around most coasts with afternoon sea breezes possible.
"Isolated showers could break out later in the afternoon, mainly over the Southern Uplands."
