A Scots schoolgirl has penned an adorable letter thanking hero NHS staff for 'keeping going' and 'risking their lives during the coronavirus pandemic.
Aimie Morrison has been hailed as 'inspirational' for her note to Highland health bosses, telling medics 'your work is paying off' and that there is 'light at the end of the tunnel'.
Several senior NHS chiefs, including Highland chief executive Pam Dudek, responded directly to the Inver Primary pupil and wished her a happy summer holiday.
Coronavirus cases have been rising recently in Scotland but the vaccine roll out continues.
Aimie urged NHS staff to 'keep going' and that 'we are getting out' of the pandemic.
The letter reads: "Dear NHS,
"I am writing this letter to say thank you for keeping on going during the Covid pandemic and still attending your work and never thinking of giving up.
"Thank you for treating Covid patients and never giving up. Well done for risking your lives to save others and thank you for helping people get better.
"I admire your work so much- I can't believe how much work you have done to help us all.
"Don't give up now because there is light at the end of the tunnel! Your work is paying off and we are getting out of Covid-19!

"You have been a massive help during the coronavirus. What ward do you work in, how many people work in the hospital and is it stressful?"
A statement from NHS Highland read: "We were delighted to receive a letter from Aimie Morrison, a pupil at Inver Primary, thanking all NHSH staff.
"Aimie wrote to NHS Highland in April thanking all staff ‘for keeping on going during the COVID pandemic and still attending your work and never thinking of giving up’.
"She was delighted to receive a number of responses from NHS Highland including letters from our Chief Executive, our ITU team, Adult Social Care, the Medical High Dependency and Optometry."
In her response to Aimie, Pam Dudek, NHS Highland Chief Executive, wrote ‘Thank you for taking the time to write to NHS Highland and thank us for our work. It really means a lot when we hear from people like you.
"We wish we could share your letter with every single person working here, but there are so many (over 10,000!) that we picked just a few to respond to you personally’.
Councillor Fiona Robertson, Chair of the Easter Ross Area Committee and local Member said: “Aimie’s letter is so thoughtful and kind and, as we can see from the replies, was welcomed by NHS staff.
"For young people to know and recognise the truly wonderful and remarkable role that the NHS staff play in all our lives at some point, and how much we all rely on them, is so positive and encouraging.
"It’s so important in life for us all to take time to give thanks and appreciate other people within our communities, and Aimie is such a powerful example to us all.
“Thank you to Aimie for being so considerate and thank you to all our extraordinary NHS staff for caring for us all.”
