Scots schoolgirl leaves Colin Farrell giggling after quizzing him on BAFTA red carpet

A Scots schoolgirl left Hollywood star Colin Farrell giggling to himself after she asked him a cheeky question on the BAFTA red carpet.

Poppy Millhouse was on the red carpet to interview some of the biggest names in Hollywood on Sunday after winning an EE competition where she had to use EE filters to make a 60 second movie, writes Edinburgh Live.

Poppy’s mum, Robyn Bell, said: “We only had one day left to enter, and she was actually off school sick, but seemed to be well by lunch time. I said hey let’s do something fun and we managed to do it and edit it in an hour.

“You always see these amazing competitions and wonder what it would be like to win. The feeling of getting that notification was just indescribable.”

One week later the pair were whisked off London to stay in a five star hotel and chauffeured to and from the red carpet.

The eight-year-old asked the Banshees of Inisherin star to name as many films set in space as he possibly could in 15 seconds - a task Farrell found very amusing.

Poppy was asked to interview many actors including Naomi Ackie who recently played Whitney Houston in “I wanna dance with somebody”, Emma Mackey who won the Rising Star award, and Wakanda Forever star Angela Bassett.

Poppy from Edinburgh said: "It was a once and in a lifetime opportunity, and my favourite was meeting the Queen of Wakanda, I had only watched the new Black Panther movie the week before. So to meet Angela was crazy, and her dress was so pretty.”

Proud mum Robyn added: "The red carpet may look like a fun place to be, but it is very very loud. My ears are so sore from all the photographers shouting, but to be there with Poppy was amazing. I am so proud of her, and to get to meet some of my favourite stars and share that experience with her was the best present I could have asked for.”

Poppy said: "You should just go for competitions, even if you don’t think you’ll win. I am so glad my mum got me to do it, because look what happened. We got to go to the BAFTAs."
