An East Renfrewshire head teacher was paid the ultimate compliment when a pupil dressed up as him.
Little Scarlett Smith donned a grey wig and suit as she made her way into Neilston Primary School on Halloween in a bid to look like head teacher Gerard Curley.
The seven-year-old even wore a copy of the neon vest Mr Curley puts on when welcoming children into the school in the mornings.
The youngster in class P3b told her headteacher she wanted to dress up as him because he is “really smart and really funny”.
Mr Curley said the sweet tribute had “made his day”.
He told the Paisley Daily Express: “I was heading up to the gate to welcome the children, as I do every morning, and a parent mentioned that there was a ‘mini me’ in the playground.
“When I caught sight of Scarlett, it made me laugh, especially the wig, although my hair is not that grey yet!”
He added: “I only hope that Scarlett is not after my job!

“It was such a delight to see and I think put a smile on the faces of children, parents and staff alike and who doesn’t like something to smile about?”
