Scots schoolgirl, 13, missing since Monday found safe and well by police

Police have launched an appeal to trace a 13-year-old girl missing for almost a day. Caitlin Doherty was last seen on Downie Terrace in Edinburgh at around 4pm on Monday June 27.

Officers and her family are said to be growing more concerned about the whereabouts of the missing schoolgirl. Caitlin is described as being around 5ft 2ins with shoulder-length hair which is half red and half brown in colour.

She was last seen wearing black jogging bottoms, a black crop top, black hooded top and white trainers.

Inspector Scott Casey said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of Caitlin. This is an extremely worrying time for her family and friends.

“Officers are carrying out extensive searches and reviewing CCTV in an effort to trace her but there have been no confirmed sightings of her. I would urge anyone who has any information on Caitlin whereabouts or who has had contact with her to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting 2159 of Monday, 27 June, 2022.”
