Scots schoolboys launch campaign against sex crime after Sarah Everard murder

Two 14-year-old Scots boys have begun a campaign against sexual violence after the murder of Sarah Everard in London.

Lorcan Adair and Cody Rapson, pupils at George Watson’s school in Edinburgh, hope their new group, Scotland Against Sexual Assault, will help educate boys about sexual harassment.

Lorcan said: “Since last Friday, we have set up an Instagram, a website, lots of social media really, and we also raised £145, which we’re going to donate to Rape Crisis Scotland.”

Cody said: “Soon we want to host a virtual protest via a livestream and we’ve got in touch with medical professionals and other people involved in the recovery process who are going to send in a video we can play out about their experiences with sexual crimes.

“Our main aim is to reduce those statistics about sexual assault. It’s all about the lack of education and we want to bring them to attention and try to help.

"So far, the reaction has been positive.”
