Scots schoolboys aged 13 and 15 charged over allegedly selling MDMA

Two schoolboys have been charged after police accused them of selling MDMA drugs in Falkirk.

Cops raided two addresses on Friday when they discovered tablets and solid blocks of crystallised ecstasy with an estimated combined street value of £2,000.

The children, aged 13 and 15, were arrested in connection with the find.

The incident has been submitted to the Children's Reporter by police.

Chief Inspector Chris Stewart, area commander for Falkirk, said: "I'd like to reassure the local community that it is unusual for us to recover drugs from young people of this age in the Falkirk area, particularly in such quantities."

"This was an intelligence led operation which was targeted towards specific individuals based on information we had received.

"Vulnerable people, including children, can be a target for criminals who use them to commit crimes such as drug dealing and we are carrying out enquiries to establish if there is any wider criminality.

"We will also continue to work with education and other relevant partners to make sure the necessary support is being provided.

"The recovery of these drugs is a positive step towards protecting the community and shows we will always act on information provided to us.

"If anyone has any information about drug crime in their area, contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
