Scots school pupils sing True Colours in heartwarming tribute to all NHS workers

Pupils and staff from a Scots primary school have been spreading some cheer this morning with their rendition of hit song True Colours.

Children from Alloway Primary School, in South Ayrshire, recorded a heartwarming video for all NHS workers who have been working tirelessly during the coronavirus outbreak.

The emotional clip has been shared on social media to say thank you to frontline staff working to save lives.

The video starts with a short message from Headteacher Mrs Butler detailing the efforts the school is going to to help the community with foodbank donations.

Pupils then salute the NHS workers wishing them all well and dedicating the song to them, before singing True Colours by Cyndi Lauper.

Head teacher Karen Butler told the Daily Record: "I couldn't sleep one night thinking what we as staff could do to turn the tide of emotion for our children.

"I know a lot of parents work for the NHS and members of my family as well. Alongside my brilliant staff we all worked together to put together the video.

"True Colours is a song we use frequently at school assemblies when teaching the pupils about citizenship and moral studies, and it is fitting at this time."
