Scots rockers The Snuts apologise after stopping gig over men 'acting like animals'

Scots band The Snuts have had to apologise to fans after their Oxford gig was disrupted by the 'behaviour of males'.

The band, from West Lothian, decided to call out people attending their gig after some fans were made to feel 'unsafe' whilst in the crowd.

They took to their social media platforms to call out those responsible for the incident and said that it was unacceptable to act like that at their gigs and that they would not tolerate it.

Posting on their Instagram, they wrote: "Apologies to everyone for stopping tonight's show. We are absolutely furious to learn about the behaviour of male fans at our show in Oxford.

"This is a male problem and it is only the responsibility of males to stamp it out. No one should ever feel unsafe at gigs and it's your responsibility to report and call out your friends if they are acting like f*****g animals.

They added: "We are not your f*****g lad band and you don't get to act like that at our shows."

And fans applauded the West Lothian lads for calling out the disgusting behaviour.

One wrote: "I've no idea what happened but have huge respect for you as a band for calling this out and being categorical in saying that anyone who makes others feel unsafe is not the sort of fan you want."

Another added: "Brilliant show tonight and well done for calling this out."

While one wrote: "Well done for calling out whatever happened."

Another said: "Big up you guys. Fair play to stopping it tonight… great gig as always."

One fan commented: "Thank you for acknowledging this and for looking out for the safety of everyone. I've lost count of how many gigs I've experienced unacceptable behaviour from others, so posts and actions like this mean a lot!"

And one wrote: "You did everything you could. Thank you so much for stopping the show and protecting us."
